It is almost time for CIUK's first Career Fair of the year! Going to these fairs well prepared is key. A good question goes a long way and it can make your prospective employer interested in you and could quite possibly help you land a job interview. We have prepared 4 types of question that is useful to have in your repertoire.
Questions About The Prospective Candidate
These questions are designed to give you an advantage and to find what the recruiters are looking for in a successful candidate. Make sure to phrase your questions in a way in which it gives a chance to the representative to answer with a positive reflection on their employees and refrain from asking about negative experiences.
What kinds of skills and experience do you look for in the employees you hire?
What are the characteristics of your most successful employees?
Are graduate degrees important to advancing within your organization? If so, which ones?
Questions About The Hiring Process
Asking these questions will give you the opportunity to understand the hiring process better and to prepare you for the procedure of the interview and feedback. Make sure you phrase your questions in a professional way and try to avoid sloppy phrasing or being over-anxious about applying to the company.

It is of utmost importance that you ask questions regarding the company or organization itself. Make sure you have properly researched the firm beforehand to avoid sounding unprepared while also trying to learn some things which you would not necessarily read on the company website. When contemplating on applying, ensure that the role fits your needs and expectations.

Questions About The Recruiter’s Career
Do not be afraid to inquire about the recruiter’s personal experience within the company. These people are placed there because they are wishing to give you an accurate representation of the organization which includes their encounters as an employer/employee. However, refrain from being overtly personal and stick to the professional life of the ambassador.
